I agree. I will be replacing the start menu with a third party alternative as soon as possible. I don't need constant trivial updates that distract me and take resources.

Looks like start menu won't work properly without an internet connection. Can we get one that doesn't try to constantly distract you?

Surely you can disable that in a relatively easy way? I'm thinking about trying linux and such comments kinda scare me.
