Brave is building this functionality into the browser.

I used to use it for secure chat with friends, but stopped when they started doing the weird crypto stuff. I switched to Signal and never looked back.

Same concern here. I think it's a more valuable use of time to get all your friends/family to switch to Signal. AND pay for (donate) to Signal.
