WhatsApp was actually profitable pre-acquisition and they never needed the VC money. It was still in the bank + more when they got acquired

How do you expect them to pay for their costs and service fees? One time payments of $1-$10 don't cut it. People aren't paying massive one time fees for mobile apps

You think they wouldn't have done that napkin math before deciding to acquire it?
