My experience is the complete opposite of what you describe.

The cookie popups are caused by lazy companies who choose not to comply with the law. It's not caused by the EU.

It's definitely a viable option, and probably the simplest/easiest password manager to use if you're only using Apple devices (of course, that is by design).
