The best way to remove the GIL completely is switching language to Go, unfortunately this is not always possible.

An ORM makes sense if you need to make very dynamic SQL queries, ie advanced logic at runtime. If your app can work well with static queries then you should not add an ORM.

You only hear about folks praising mindfulness, this is an interesting observation.
