About Us: CrossnoKaye is building cloud-connected automation systems that will revolutionize the heavy industrial industry and bring them into the digital age. The software revolution progressed nearly every sector, but passed over heavy industries largely because every site is different and difficult to create applications that scale to multiple facilities. We are bringing the software revolution to heavy industries by making the first Operating System (OS), which allows for apps to be written for multiple facilities. Our OS and apps transform existing “dumb” facilities into smart ones through modern computing infrastructure, cloud integration, advanced AI, IIoT, and automated control systems that run the entire facility.

Our initial target market is cold storage as this sector is one of the most energy intensive sectors on the planet. Our cloud controls platform, called ATLAS, and Energy AI has already demonstrated an enormous reduction in energy costs and megatons of reduction in GHG emissions. As these heavy industrial facilities deploy our modern software, it will not only transform the industry but can also help fight global warming. It’s our goal as a company to make a measurable impact on climate change while making each facility safer and more efficient for our customers.

About this Role: CrossnoKaye is looking for a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our fast-paced, growing engineering department. This individual will work with a passionate team of software engineers and scientists to create highly efficient distributed systems with high-uptime. This developer will collaborate with the team to troubleshoot the software, write clean code, and have the opportunity to improve the features to the existing software. Your main responsibility will be to maintain and grow features in the backend code base and develop the workflows in Golang. The ideal candidate will be flexible and adaptable enough to thrive in a fluid startup environment. Our current technology stack includes AWS, Golang, Vue.JS, Postgres, Time Series Databases (TSDB), Grafana/Loki, Kubernetes, and Docker.

Job Responsibilities: ● Develop maintainable, fault tolerant components within our highly distributed system architecture ● Build scale through high performance computing and leveraging of latest cloud technologies ● Help drive architecture best practices to promote a reliable, safe, and testable architecture ● Use the latest monitoring and diagnostic tools in proactively troubleshooting challenging issues ● Collaborate with Science, Operations, and Engineering teams to define new features and improve our existing product ● Guide and mentor junior engineers ● Write unit tests as part of developing high quality and reliable software ● Build consensus and drive decisions to promote leading edge technologies

Qualifications ● Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science (or related industry experience) ● 5+ years’ experience of developing server-side software ● Experience in Service Architecture, API Design, and Database Schema Design ● Experience with RPC, network protocols, and horizontally scalable services ● Proficient in a structured language (C++, Java, Golang, Rust, etc) ● Knowledge of design patterns ● Experience with cloud-computing and distributed systems ● Experience working in a rapid CI/CD-based development environment ● Experience in instrumenting code for gathering production performance metrics ● Collaborative, easy to work with, and strong communication skills ● Can start with a loosely defined problem and deliver a working solution
