Ask HN: How do I find a designer to work with for a portfolio website?

I'm willing to pay, but ideally it would be a portfolio site for both of us. What are resources, websites, personal experience for this?

So I removed auth for the main page you login at and the links to tags. Everything else will require login. I think this was a great idea, I've been in my own bubble and yes, not e…

I built this as something I needed for my portfolio, and to challenge myself as a developer with only 3 and a half years of experience. I know the code is kinda bad, but I also kno…

On the API docs, there's plenty of code examples and a caching feature which is awesome, but I wish the docs at https://stripe.com/docs/development could be cached like the API doc…

Is this the result of a decreasing amount of patriotism across the US? Or maybe it's just money.

I especially feel this, my fiance is a biologist, we each have our own "language" we speak. I've learned more from him about communication than anyone else I've ever met!

I would invest in a pair of nice noise canceling headphones. They work wonders for me and are a must have in open offices.

Ask HN: What's the best interview process you've had?

I blew up at a recruiter who was trying to get me to take a BS IKM test. I am awful at taking tests, and I've worked long enough you'd think they believe I knew how to code.

What if one used audio feedback while using soli, eg swiping made a literally swiping noise, turning your hand clicked every notch you turned on a volume slider.
