Don't jinx it. Bird flu (H5N1) is like that, 50% mortality, luckily it failed to gain human to human transmission.

Way too soon for that, but it will be investigated in the future.

Not all flus are alike. Some, like H5N1 or Swine Flu were investigated and tracked in great detail, to the point of individual transmission chains.
