Who makes a statement like that about Apple products and expects to be taken seriously?

Why not both? People would not notice drastic performance issues after doing an iOS upgrade if it was just the battery.

Agreed. iOS 11 was the tipping point for me (can't delete photos using trash icon, wrong orientation when unlocking phone, random lag/freezes etc). Apple just doesn't care any more…
