    I'm sure the traffic is encrypted. But it's trivially easy for Facebook to copy your private key to their servers.

    Nonsense. The app is closed source. Facebook could be copying all your private keys to their servers and you would never know.

    Flatpack and Snap versions both work ok. I'm using the distro (manjaro) build, which is also pretty good. No idea how good the AUR versions are.
