Logseq is one I highly recommend: http://logseq.com/ Outliner, local file storage, API plugins, todo's and loads more. On top of everything, it is free.

Agree. The community on the Discordust be one of the most active I have seen. It is sometimes difficult just to keep up

This is a huge + for me too. I have my notes saved on Google Drive and can access them across computers. Makes things so simple and easy to use
