About cloudartisans

I run a small consulting firm that specializes in building RESTful APIs with Python/Django REST Framework. We also build scalable, well thought-out AWS infrastructures (using Terraform) to run those APIs and support them with DevOps thereafter. We work in tandem with your front-end dev team to help you build your web/mobile apps on top of the API.

I'd be ok with the changing prices--I use Amazon's subscribe and save, and the price fluctuations are reasonable. If memory serves, if the price is totally out of whack or the item…

Ask HN: Why don't Amazon, Target, Walmart implement product queueing?

For products like hand sanitizer and masks, why can't there be orderly queues, with quotas, so that everyone can be treated fairly? As a software engineer, I find myself seriously …

That’s a sweet deferral for people: at the end of their mortgage period, their mortgage payment is worth a lot less than it is today.

You don’t think it’s a good time to “panic sell” when the market goes up 20% in just 3 days? Edit: especially while the US corona curve is not showing any signs of slowing down.

No idea! It’s like everyone is looking at this as a “money problem” and throwing a bunch of stimulus at it, instead of taking it for what it actually is—an unprecedented health iss…

My trouble has been that I automate everything and document it so well, that I basically "code myself out of a job." I also strive for instant response time (my wife hates that) an…

I've never actually asked or gotten questions about my invoices. So, either everything is crystal clear, or you're right, they don't look at them. I suspect every client probably l…

You're right, I don't know. I figure, if they are happy, I will get repeat business and referrals. If I'm charging too little, then they should be extremely happy and are even bett…

Alternate view that's worked well for me: not only do I not charge by the day, I don't even charge by the hour. I charge by the minute and tell them exactly what I did in the time …
