About boot13

Neck-deep in computers since my first Apple II+, I've done just about everything in this field.

Currently I'm having fun setting up and running various kinds of servers, and developing web sites both professionally and for kicks.

I run a modded-but-no-downloads-required co-operative Battlefield 1942 server called Tanks 'n Planes Unlimited, which you can find via https://jdrgaming.com.

I also have a computing blog: https://boot13.com.

My consulting business: https://jrc-core.com.

I use https://speedof.me/ and https://testmy.net/ . They match my QoS limits when QoS is enabled in my router, and match what I'm paying for when QoS is disabled.

YouTube is the world's greatest repository of culture. And shitty comments. But mostly the culture thing. And Facebook is a bulletin board. No competition.

uMatrix rocks. It can take a few minutes of fiddling to get a complex site working, but it's totally worthwhile.

No stats needed. Just go through the bug list for any software. How many of the bugs were introduced by the people who maintain stable packages?
