Not surprised at all. I know a lot of people that upload sensitive docs to format conversion free sites (like jpg to pdf converter, joining pdfs etc).

I've liked bogleheads forum. The usual advice would be to maxmimize 401(k), ROTH IRA and invest in index funds.

What is a typical path from dev->trader? Should one join a hedge fund as a programmer and then step up the ladder?

I'd rather be trading on someone else's money :) My question is about how to get foot into the door as a trader.

I was wondering the same. How hard is it to go from a programmer to a trader in a bank?

Thanks for the clarification. Is it feasible to get into a prop shop or hedge fund as a programmer and "graduate" to trader? How common is it?
