Telemetry data snooping is the problem here. It clearly makes FF hang forever, and having it off by default would not have triggered the issue. So data snooping is the issue here.

Disabling all checkboxes in "Firefox Data Collection and Use" made it work It seems to be hanging on sending "telemetry"
