Well, you're right, though I've seen data in there for domains with about 10k emails per month. Still, that's probably way over the home email setup threshold.

Take a look at 2checkout, they have some recurrent billing functionality out-of-box.

There's a simple straight alternative called YMLP ( http://ymlp.com ). They're dirt cheap and they're more than 10 years on a market.
